How to Get a Rabbit’s Foot in Stardew Valley
Updated April 2026 · 3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
Rabbit’s Feet are produced by Rabbits in a Deluxe Coop — a rabbit at high friendship occasionally drops one instead of wool. You can also buy them from the Traveling Cart for 1,695–2,825g. The Rabbit’s Foot is one of the most universally liked gifts and is needed for a secret event on the bus to the Desert.
How to Get a Rabbit’s Foot
1
Build a Deluxe Coop and buy a Rabbit. Rabbits require a Deluxe Coop — the third tier of coop. Upgrade your coop twice through Robin at her Carpenter Shop (total cost: ~8,000g + materials), then visit Marnie’s Ranch to buy a White or Brown Rabbit for 8,000g. See our full guide: how to get a rabbit.
2
Build friendship with your Rabbit to 5 hearts. Pet your Rabbit every day and ensure it goes outside on sunny days. Once it reaches 5 hearts of friendship it begins producing either Wool or a Rabbit’s Foot each day — the Rabbit’s Foot is a rarer drop compared to Wool. A Rabbit at full 5 hearts with maximum mood has the highest daily chance of producing a Rabbit’s Foot.
3
Buy from the Traveling Cart. The Traveling Cart that visits on Fridays and Sundays in Cindersap Forest occasionally sells Rabbit’s Feet for 1,695–2,825g. Check it every visit — if you urgently need one for a gift or event, buying is faster than waiting for your rabbit to produce one. The cart’s stock is random but Rabbit’s Feet appear reasonably often.
4
Get the Coopmaster profession for faster drops. At Farming level 10, the Coopmaster profession halves the time it takes for coop animals to reach max friendship — rabbits befriend twice as fast, reaching peak Rabbit’s Foot production sooner. If you focus on coop animals, Coopmaster significantly accelerates your Rabbit’s Foot income.
What Rabbit’s Foot Is Used For
→
Universal liked gift: the Rabbit’s Foot is one of the few items liked by virtually every villager in Stardew Valley — the only exceptions are Penny and a handful of others. It is an excellent default gift when you don’t know someone’s preferences, making it worth stockpiling for rapid friendship building across multiple villagers.
→
Secret bus event: carrying a Rabbit’s Foot while riding the bus to the Calico Desert triggers a hidden cutscene with the other passengers. It is a minor but charming Easter egg that most players miss — have one in your inventory on your first desert trip to see it.
→
Rabbit’s Foot sells for 565g: at base price it sells for 565g (iridium quality: 1,130g). With the Artisan profession it processes into nothing useful — sell it raw or use it for gifting rather than processing. The Artisan profession does not apply to Rabbit’s Feet since they are not artisan goods.
→
Multiple rabbits multiply production: each Rabbit produces independently — a Deluxe Coop with multiple Rabbits at max friendship generates Rabbit’s Feet more frequently. Combined with the universal liked gift property, a small supply from two or three rabbits provides enough gifting material to maintain friendships across the whole town.
→
Tailoring recipes: Rabbit’s Foot is used in tailoring at Emily’s sewing machine to create certain clothing items. If you have more Rabbit’s Feet than you need for gifting, check the tailoring recipes — several unique outfits require it as a material.
