How to Get to the Haligtree in Elden Ring
Updated April 2026 · 3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
You need the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right) from Village of the Albinaurics in Liurnia, and the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) from Castle Sol in the Mountaintops of the Giants after defeating Commander Niall. Use both halves at the Grand Lift of Rold to reach the hidden Consecrated Snowfield, then travel northwest to Ordina and solve the Evergaol puzzle to open the portal to Miquella’s Haligtree. If you still need access to the late-game snow region, start with How to Get to the Mountaintops of the Giants in Elden Ring.
Step-by-Step: Reaching the Haligtree
1
Get the Right Medallion half: go to the Village of the Albinaurics in southwest Liurnia (below the plateau). Hit the large pot near the grace — an NPC named Albus is hiding inside. Exhaust his dialogue to receive the right half.
2
Get the Left Medallion half: go to Castle Sol in the far north of the Mountaintops of the Giants, defeat Commander Niall, then ride the lift up and loot the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left) from the rooftop area. If you have not reached this zone yet, see How to Get to the Mountaintops of the Giants in Elden Ring.
3
Travel to the Grand Lift of Rold in the Forbidden Lands (northeast of Leyndell). At the lift prompt, switch from the normal medallion action to «Hoist Secret Medallion» using both halves together. This unlocks the hidden path to the Consecrated Snowfield.
4
Cross the Consecrated Snowfield heading northwest. The area has heavy blizzards — stick to the main path and follow the ruins. Reach Ordina, Liturgical Town in the far northwest corner.
5
Enter the Ordina Evergaol (the seal at the town entrance). Inside, light all 4 candles on statues scattered through the town while avoiding invisible assassins. Lighting all four breaks the seal on the portal at the north end of town.
6
Use the portal at the top of Ordina to teleport directly into Miquella’s Haligtree. The first grace — Haligtree Canopy — is just ahead.
Tips
→
The Ordina candle puzzle is the hardest part — the invisible Black Knife Assassins hit hard. Use the rooftops to reach the higher statues and avoid ground-level assassins as much as possible.
→
Don’t go to the Haligtree unless you’re level 120+ and have a well-upgraded weapon (+20 standard or +9 somber). This is one of the hardest optional areas in the game.
→
The Consecrated Snowfield blizzards reduce visibility to near zero. Torrent helps — ride fast through the whiteout sections and rest at every grace you find to mark your progress.
→
The Haligtree leads to Malenia, Blade of Miquella — widely considered the hardest boss in the game. Bring your best build and plenty of Rune Arcs.
