How to Solve Astronomy Table Puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy
Updated April 2026 · 2 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
Find an Astronomy Table at night — they only activate between dusk and dawn. Interact with the table to enter the puzzle view, then rotate the telescope to align the constellation outline in the sky with the star pattern shown on the table. Once the stars snap into position the puzzle completes automatically and rewards you with a unique cosmetic.
Step by Step
1
Locate an Astronomy Table on the map — they appear as telescope icons once discovered via Revelio or by passing nearby. There are 15 in total spread across the Highland region.
2
If it’s daytime, open the map and wait — use the in-game time skip by opening your map and pressing the wait button to advance to night. The table glows blue when active.
3
Interact with the table to enter puzzle mode. You’ll see a star constellation outline projected in the sky and a small reference diagram on the table showing the target star pattern.
4
Rotate and tilt the telescope using the right stick (controller) or mouse until the individual stars in the sky align with the dots in the constellation outline. The stars will lock into place with a sound cue when correctly positioned.
5
Once all stars are aligned the puzzle completes automatically — you receive a cosmetic reward (broom skin, gear appearance, or facial paint) unique to each table location.
Tips
→
If the table won’t activate, check the time — it must be night. The table has no interaction prompt during the day, which can make it look broken.
→
Move the telescope slowly — the stars snap into position when you’re close enough. Overshooting and spinning back is the most common reason puzzles take longer than they should.
→
Each table rewards a different cosmetic — completing all 15 unlocks the full set of astronomy-themed appearances for gear and brooms.
→
Astronomy Tables count toward the 100% regional completion for each area — worth doing as you explore each region rather than backtracking at the end.
