How to Find All Merlin Trials in Hogwarts Legacy
Updated April 2026 · 2 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
There are 95 Merlin Trials scattered across the open world. To find them, unlock the Revelio spell early and use it constantly while exploring — trials appear as green leaf icons on the map once discovered. You also need Mallowsweet Leaves in your inventory to activate each one. Buy seeds from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade and grow them in the Room of Requirement.
How to Find and Complete Merlin Trials
1
Complete the main story quest Trials of Merlin — Nora Treadwell in Hogsmeade introduces it early in the game. This unlocks the ability to attempt all trials across the map.
2
Buy Mallowsweet Seeds from The Magic Neep in Hogsmeade (500 gold each), then grow them in a Large Pot in the Room of Requirement. Each harvest gives multiple leaves — stock up before long exploration sessions.
3
Explore each region on foot or by broom and cast Revelio frequently. Nearby Merlin Trials will glow and appear as green leaf markers on your minimap. They are always near a stone circle on the ground.
4
Interact with the stone circle to activate the trial — this consumes one Mallowsweet Leaf. Each trial has a unique puzzle type: lighting orbs, destroying stone structures, balancing on platforms, and more.
5
Complete the puzzle within the time limit. Rewards are automatic — every few trials completed unlocks an additional gear inventory slot, up to a maximum of 40 slots total.
Tips
→
Open your world map and look for green leaf icons — any trial you’ve passed near but not activated will appear there, making it easy to backtrack.
→
The Wingardium Leviosa and Accio spells are essential for many trial types — make sure they’re assigned to your active spell set before starting a session.
→
You don’t need to complete all 95 to max inventory slots — 34 completed trials is enough to reach the 40-slot cap.
→
If a trial puzzle resets unexpectedly, move away and return — some trials have a proximity trigger that resets if you step outside the boundary.
