⚡ Quick Answer

Gardevoir ex is one of the most consistent decks in the format. The strategy is to use Gardevoir ex’s Psychic Embrace ability to attach Psychic Energy from the discard pile to your Pokémon for free, then hit for massive damage. A well-set-up Gardevoir ex hits for 200-300+ damage per turn with enough Energy on the board.

Full Deck List
Pokémon — 14 4 Ralts (SIT) 2 Kirlia (SIT) 3 Gardevoir ex (SIT) 1 Gardevoir (CRE) — backup attacker 2 Zacian V — free retreat + Energy attachment 1 Drifloon — free Psychic attacker 1 Mew ex — versatile attacker option
Trainer — 34 4 Iono 3 Professor’s Research 2 Boss’s Orders 4 Ultra Ball 4 Rare Candy 3 Nest Ball 2 Level Ball 3 Twilight Masquerade cards 2 Switch 2 Escape Rope 2 Super Rod 3 Pecharunt ex — disruption option
Energy — 12 12 Basic Psychic Energy
How the Deck Works
1 Set up Gardevoir ex as fast as possible. Get Ralts on the bench on turn 1. Use Rare Candy to skip Kirlia and evolve directly to Gardevoir ex on turn 2. This requires Ralts + Rare Candy + Gardevoir ex in hand — build your opening hand around finding these three pieces.
2 Use Psychic Embrace to load Energy. Gardevoir ex’s ability lets you attach a Psychic Energy from your discard pile to any of your Pokémon once per turn (take 2 damage counters per Energy attached). Discard Energy aggressively with Professor’s Research early to set up this engine.
3 Attack with Gardevoir ex for massive damage. Miracle Force deals 190 damage base + 30 for each Psychic Energy attached to all your Pokémon. With 3-4 Energy on the board that’s 280-310 damage — enough to one-shot almost any ex Pokémon in the format.
4 Use Iono to disrupt late game. When your opponent has fewer prizes, Iono shuffles both hands back into their decks and you each draw based on prizes remaining. This devastates opponents who are holding a full hand of resources in the final turns.
Tips
Never attach Energy manually if Psychic Embrace is active — always use the ability to attach from discard instead, it’s free Energy acceleration every turn.
Watch your HP — Psychic Embrace puts damage counters on Gardevoir ex. Keep a healing card or Switch ready to move a damaged Gardevoir to the bench.
Path to the Peak stadium shuts off Gardevoir ex’s ability — carry Lost Vacuum or Counter Catcher to remove opponent’s stadiums immediately.
Buy regular art copies — the full art Gardevoir ex is expensive but plays identically. The regular art version costs a fraction of the price.
Gardevoir ex has been a top-tier deck since its release and remains one of the most powerful and consistent strategies in the format. Its ceiling is extremely high — an experienced player can consistently hit 300+ damage per turn from turn 3 onwards. The main learning curve is managing the Psychic Embrace damage counters on Gardevoir ex itself and knowing when to Iono versus when to push for the knockout. More Pokémon TCG guides
