How to Get the Sacred Relic Sword in Elden Ring
Updated April 2026 · 3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
Defeat the Elden Beast — the final boss of Elden Ring — and receive the Elden Remembrance. Trade it with Enia at the Roundtable Hold for the Sacred Relic Sword. It cannot be obtained any other way. The sword is famous for its Wave of Gold Ash of War — the best rune farming tool in the game.
How to Get the Sacred Relic Sword
1
Defeat Radagon and the Elden Beast. The Sacred Relic Sword requires beating the final boss — a two-phase fight starting with Radagon of the Golden Order followed immediately by the Elden Beast. There are no shortcuts — you must complete the main story to access this weapon.
2
Collect the Elden Remembrance after the fight. After defeating the Elden Beast the Elden Remembrance drops automatically — it appears in your inventory. This is the boss remembrance for the final boss and can be exchanged for one of two unique rewards. Do not consume it for runes — it is worth far more as a trade item.
3
Travel to Roundtable Hold and speak with Enia. Fast travel to Roundtable Hold — accessible from any Site of Grace — and find Enia the Finger Reader in the large hall. Select «Receive power from remembrance» and choose the Sacred Relic Sword from the Elden Remembrance trade options. The alternative is the Marika’s Hammer — choose based on your build.
4
Get both rewards by duplicating the Remembrance. Visit a Wandering Mausoleum before trading — these walking stone towers found across the Lands Between allow you to duplicate one Remembrance per mausoleum. Duplicating the Elden Remembrance lets you obtain both the Sacred Relic Sword and Marika’s Hammer from a single boss kill.
Sacred Relic Sword Tips
→
Wave of Gold — the best rune farming tool: the Sacred Relic Sword’s Ash of War fires a massive golden wave that covers a huge area and kills most standard enemies instantly. At the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace in Mohgwyn Palace, one Wave of Gold cast kills dozens of Albinaurics simultaneously — the fastest rune farm in the game yielding 30,000–50,000 runes per cast at high levels.
→
Scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith: the Sacred Relic Sword requires 14 Str, 24 Dex, and 22 Faith. It scales with all three stats — a Faith build or quality-Faith hybrid gets the most damage from it. At 40/40/40 Str/Dex/Faith it achieves excellent AR for an endgame greatsword.
→
Upgrades with Somber Smithing Stones: the Sacred Relic Sword is a Somber weapon upgrading to +10. Upgrade it immediately after obtaining it using Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for the final +10 upgrade — these are found in Farum Azula and the Haligtree, or purchased from Enia using Dragon Hearts at the Roundtable Hold.
→
Use it primarily for the Ash of War: most players keep the Sacred Relic Sword specifically for its Wave of Gold Ash of War rather than as a primary combat weapon. Equip it in your offhand or secondary slot, switch to it for rune farming runs and crowd clearing, then swap back to your main weapon for boss fights.
→
The Mohgwyn Palace farm loop: rest at Palace Approach Ledge-Road, walk forward a few steps, cast Wave of Gold toward the cliff packed with Albinaurics — they die instantly. Rest at the bonfire to respawn them and repeat. With the Gold Scarab talisman and Golden Vow active this loop yields over 60,000 runes in under 30 seconds per cycle.
FAQ
How do you get the Sacred Relic Sword in Elden Ring?
Defeat the Elden Beast (the final boss) to receive the Elden Remembrance, then trade it with Enia at Roundtable Hold by selecting «Receive power from remembrance.» The Sacred Relic Sword is one of two rewards from the Elden Remembrance — the alternative is Marika’s Hammer. Duplicate the Remembrance at a Wandering Mausoleum to get both.
What is Wave of Gold and why is it useful for rune farming?
Wave of Gold is the Sacred Relic Sword’s Ash of War — it fires a wide golden energy wave that deals massive Holy damage across a large area. At the Palace Approach Ledge-Road in Mohgwyn Palace it kills dozens of Albinaurics per cast, yielding 30,000–60,000+ runes in seconds, making it the fastest rune farming method in the game.
Can you get both the Sacred Relic Sword and Marika’s Hammer?
Yes — duplicate the Elden Remembrance at any Wandering Mausoleum before trading with Enia. Each mausoleum allows one Remembrance duplication per playthrough. With the duplicated Remembrance you can obtain both the Sacred Relic Sword and Marika’s Hammer from the same boss kill without needing New Game Plus.
What stats do I need for the Sacred Relic Sword?
The Sacred Relic Sword requires 14 Strength, 24 Dexterity, and 22 Faith. It scales with all three stats and performs best on Faith or quality-Faith hybrid builds. Even if you don’t meet the requirements for combat use, you only need to meet them to use the Wave of Gold Ash of War for rune farming purposes.
