Volcano Manor is one of Elden Ring’s richest optional areas — a questline hub, assassination mission board, and gateway to the Rykard boss fight all in one location. Its dark, conspiratorial atmosphere and unique NPC roster make it worth exploring thoroughly before triggering the boss. The manor also connects to Rya’s full questline, which has one of the game’s more melancholic endings if you follow it to completion.

Route 1 — Rya’s Teleport (Fastest)
There are two routes to Volcano Manor. The fastest is letting Rya the Tarnished (found in Liurnia near Laskyar Ruins) teleport you there after retrieving her necklace — this skips the entire Mt. Gelmir approach. The standard route goes through the Altus Plateau, northwest through Mt. Gelmir, following the cliffside path past Fort Laiedd and the Seethewater area up to the manor entrance. Recommended level: 70–85.
1Find Rya at the pavilion near Laskyar Ruins in eastern Liurnia — she’s the NPC standing under the gazebo by the water. She asks you to retrieve her stolen necklace from a nearby Blackguard merchant (Boilprawn Shack, southeast of her location).
2Buy the necklace from Blackguard Big Boggart for 1,000 Runes (or kill him to take it, but this locks his questline). Return the necklace to Rya and exhaust her dialogue. She will offer to take you to Volcano Manor whenever you’re ready.
3Accept her offer — you are immediately teleported to Volcano Manor, landing in the main hall. Speak to Lady Tanith at the table to begin the manor’s questline and gain access to the assassination contracts.
