How to Beat Radahn in Elden Ring
Updated April 2026 · Boss guide · 3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer
To beat Radahn in Elden Ring, use Torrent to dodge his opening arrows and summon all available NPC allies from the red signs across the battlefield. Let the summons distract him while you deal damage safely. In Phase 2, when he launches into the sky and returns as a meteor, ride away immediately to avoid the impact. A comfortable level is around 60–70.
How to Beat Radahn Step by Step
1
Get to around level 60–70 first. Radahn is one of the first major difficulty spikes in Elden Ring, and going in underleveled makes the fight much harder than it needs to be. Upgrade your weapon, raise your Vigor, and make sure you can survive at least one or two heavy hits before attempting the festival.
2
Summon Torrent immediately when the fight starts. Radahn opens with a barrage of giant gravity arrows. On foot these are much harder to avoid consistently. On Torrent you can sprint sideways and outrun them much more safely. If you have not unlocked your mount yet, read how to get Torrent in Elden Ring. Keep Torrent active through most of Phase 1.
3
Activate all NPC summon signs before engaging. Ride around the battlefield and interact with every red summon sign you see before committing to the fight. NPCs like Alexander, Blaidd, and Castellan Jerren keep Radahn distracted and give you safe windows to attack or heal. Re-summoning allies is one of the main mechanics that makes this boss manageable.
4
Attack when the summons have his attention. When Radahn turns toward the NPCs, close in and hit his legs or flank, then disengage before his next swing. You can fight mostly from horseback or briefly dismount for safer melee bursts depending on your build. The key is to avoid staying in front of him for too long.
5
Phase 2 — he flies into space and crashes back down. At 50% HP Radahn launches himself into the sky. A meteor trail appears targeting your position. Sprint directly away from the impact site on Torrent — the explosion is massive. After the crash, re-engage immediately while he’s recovering.
6
In Phase 2, keep moving and re-summon allies when possible. Radahn gains stronger gravity attacks after the meteor transition, so mobility becomes even more important. Stay at mid-range, punish his recovery windows with quick attacks, and reactivate any NPC summon signs that reappear. Keeping pressure on him without overcommitting is the safest way to finish the fight.
Extra Tips for the Radahn Fight
→
Scarlet Rot is Radahn’s biggest weakness — the Rot Breath incantation or Rotten Breath spell applied twice triggers Scarlet Rot and melts a huge chunk of his HP.
→
If you die, you can re-summon all the NPCs again — their summon signs respawn every attempt. Always activate all of them before engaging.
→
Radahn drops the Remembrance of the Starscourge — transpose it at Enia for either the Starscourge Greatswords (dual strength weapons) or Lion Greatbow.
